Probation Visit to France

1Very early on the morning of April 19, the 2012 Spring Probation group departed for France with hearts full of both anticipation and sadness.  The sadness came from the fact that our Congolese probanists, Annie Nzila and Nadine Mputu, did not receive visas that would permit them to make the trip.  During the ten days of our travels they instead made a visit to Padua and Venice.

Looking at reality from the viewpoint of our spirituality

(First stage)

0809decoration.jpgThe first step has been to look at the reality of our families, our country, our church from the viewpoint of our spirituality.

To regard reality as a sacrament for us, in that it manifests the joys and the sorrows of our sisters and brothers, to whom we are sent and whom we wish to love and serve with the love of the Heart of God.

We have looked, therefore, with the loving eyes of one who rejoices and suffers with the loved one.

I. Reading in order to comment on the following texts of the Gospel that show us Christ’s manner of looking:

  • Cure of the man with the withered hand (Mark 3, 1-6)
  • Multiplication of the loaves (John 6, 5-14)

II. Analyzing the strengths, weaknesses and possible influences at work in the following categories

Family

  • marriage
  • parental relations
  • procreation
    sexual relations
  • types of family

Country

  • education
  • manner of living
  • health
  • work
  • countries of origin
  • political system

Church

  • christian communities
  • apostolates
  • sacraments
  • volunteer opportunities
  • role of women
  • vocations
