Let go
Autumn whips the leaves
Off the trees.
Dare they cling
No spring
To shoot forth buds
And birth the fruit,
And no bare lacy boughs
To beautify the winter sky.

So too with us
Let go……
Don’t hold
To anything
Too tight.
For then
No new life.
No blossom, bud or blade,
No fruit.
Be Fruit.
Be Wine.
Be Sign.
Have you seen Autumn?
No.
But I know
It transforms
The leaves
From green to gold,
To red, to heather, and
purple brown.
Have you seen God?
No.
But I know
He transforms
You and me,
From hue to hue,
From light to shade
And dark to bright.
For each day is new
And God is new
At dawn, at noon, at night,
And dwells in me and you.
