“Our Lord allowed his divine heart to be opened after his death to show us the treasures hidden in this heart.”
(St. Madeleine Sophie Barat, Conferences II, 1848, p. 134)

“Jesus gave life to the Society on the cross as blood flowed from his open heart, the ultimate proof of his love for us. What a blessing for us! And what an inestimable gift to have been brought forth from his heart!”
(St. Madeleine Sophie Barat, Conference, I, 1845, p. 400)

For prayer :

Today the Church has us read the Passion according to Saint John (18, 1-19, 42).

We might pray in the form of lectio divina before Christ on the cross, asking for the grace to enter deeply into the mystery of the Passion of Jesus.

This retreat on line has been composed by Marie-Thérèse Deprecq, rscj of France.
