The pierced Heart of Jesus

In Exodus we read: "The Lord went in front of them in a pillar of cloud by day, to lead them along the way, and in a pillar of fire by night, to give them light, so that they might travel by day and by night. . . " We forget the truth that to go through our life's journey, the journey of the "New Covenant Exodus", the darkness is as important as the light. A star can be seen only in the dark. Its brilliance is not visible in the bright daylight.

On Calvary, when darkness came over the whole land, "one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and at once blood and water came out" (John 19:34).
The pierced Heart of Jesus on the Cross: in that darkness we see the extremity of the Love of God shining...
