We are women of Latin America, women of peace, religious of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, from different parts of the continent; we met to share the riches of our cultures and our lives……………… We are the young representatives of religious life with dreams, hopes and desires to make and build the Kingdom of God in accordance with our desires and the rhythm of our personal lives, our outlook and the way we fit into the reality of today’s world……………… |

Our lives, given in love, are the strongest expression of our spirituality. We reaffirm the conviction held by Jesus and Madeleine Sophie, our foundress, that life must be centred on the person, and we are invited to build relationships that make us more human. Recognising our vulnerability and frailty, we know that it is possible to stand up for the Kingdom of God, amid a broken, fragile world in search of truth, justice and peace……………… |

Because we believe in looking critically at the situations of Latin America and of the world, we want to take a clear stance as RSCJ.

We declare that we are against situations that threaten life: child abuse, the exploitation of many indigenous women, the arms build-up in America and throughout the world, the meaninglessness experienced by many young people, job shortage, drug trafficking and addiction, the expulsion of many people from their lands, discrimination and violence suffered by immigrants as they seek better living conditions, trafficking in persons, the lack of quality education, the harm done to nature, governments that act for their own interests and not for the people, national and transnational companies that steal our natural resources and destroy our native cultures. |

We feel challenged and stimulated by this situation. The compassion of Jesus demands that we make replies that are just. That is why we want to say “enough!” to every type of oppression and exclusion. We want to say “enough!” to every type of violence that destroys the life of so many of our brothers and sisters. We want to say “enough!” to the lack of dignity experienced by our indigenous peoples, those of African descent, women and street people. “Enough!” because the Spirit enlightening us is a Spirit of Life. |

We are of one mind as we mourn for wounded humanity, and we are impelled to be and to act. We have been gathered together and we wish to commit ourselves to join forces, to bear witness that a different world is possible. |

Dear Latin American Juniors: I congratulate you on what you have communicated with such clarity about Latin American reality and the challenge involved in engaging with these sad realities, from the perspective of our Charism and our Mission. I encourage you to communicate your clear vision and your commitment so that we may really colaborate in the transformation of our countries, so that we may truly live in justice and love, that we may be imbued with the desire to make the Kingdom come soon to our lands. Take heart and keep hoping.

English: Dear Sisters, I have really enjoyed reading the account of your meeting. It is a good way of strengthening the Cor Unum, of praying for one another, especially when it is less possible to make long journeys.
