The 10 provincials of Europe came together in Brussels from 11th to 14th January 2010 for their biennial meeting. They tackled the question of a progressive reconfiguration of the RSCJ presence in Europe.

In a letter sent to the RSCJ of Europe, the provincials stress that “the purpose of this reconfiguration is to enable and promote our life and mission”.
They also make it clear that reconfiguration “retains the concept of relationships, shared values and identity.”
Today, the important thing is “to enlarge our European vision (...) and to commit ourselves to concrete steps.”

Several provincials took advantage of their stay in Brussels, the capital of Europe, to visit the European Parliament, as well as the Chapel of the Resurrection, a centre for the Members of Parliament.

They were welcomed by Ilsemarie Weiffen, rscj, who is responsible for the pastoral work of the ecumenically oriented chapel. In January 2010, Ilsemarie took over the ministry from Dominique Sadoux rscj, who by creating different groups made this place a centre for European exchange, ecumenical, pastoral and cultural.
