We want to share with you that, in response to the call of Chapter 2008 and the needs of young people in their search for spirituality and commitment in the community of people of God, on October 18, World Mission Day, the first missionary meeting took place in the new RSCJ community of St. John the Baptist, city of Três Rio, Brazil. |
Welcoming
Sharing in reflection groups
Twenty-five young people participated in the meeting, and the reflection concerned the context of mission and the call of Jesus that makes us missionaries of the Kingdom, proclaimers of his LOVE.
There was group reflection, and they went on mission visits to local families and to a nature reserve. It was an enlightening experience to visit the elderly and the sick of the community. The young people had the possibility of learning the real situations in which these persons live and acquiring a sensitivity toward them. |
A mission visit
Dance group
There were young people from six different communities, so that an exchange of experiences among them was also possible. The meeting ended with a sending celebration followed by a cultural interlude with presentation of two groups, one musical and the other of dance, all for the young people of the community. |
