as each of the nine rscj pronounced their final vows January 15. The liturgy of final profession presided over by Fr. Jesús Rodríguez, SJ was indeed a joyous occasion for all who attended. Family members, friends and rscj from different countries came to witness and to celebrate. The European Professed of Temporary Vows who were gathered in Rome swelled the numbers.

The chapel at the Villa Lante echoed with music and song. Hymns in Congolese, Swahili and French, an Aarti from India, a Coptic Kyrie and an Arabic instrumental piece added to the international dimension of the celebration. Readings were in French and English and each Sister pronounced her vows in her chosen language.

“Trusting in the fidelity of God and in the love of my sisters, I make these perpetual vows” each Sister stated in the formula of profession. Around the Society each was remembered and supported in prayer. Now our prayer goes with them as they return to their own provinces and begin their ministry.
