Spirit of God, breathe now where you will
I am open now like the lotus flower
open and silent, tranquil and still.

Spirit of God, here are depths deep to fill
I am waiting now like the lotus flower
for wisdom that love alone can distil.

Spirit of God, breathe like the wind
through the grass and the corn;
dispel the thick cloud and streak the grey dawn.

Spirit of God let new life come to birth,
like the green shoot breaking hard crusted earth.
Fire and water, light and air,
distilled drops of rain on the sea
cry aloud, again and again: I'm free!

For the Spirit has taken possession of me
and I'm awake to the light, and free - Just to be!
