June 11: Trinity Sunday

God...Father, Son, and Spirit we behold
Not in the dazzling light of clarity,
Nor in the day of youth such mystery
But in the day of dreams and hopes grown old.
Father, whose arm upholds in spite of all,
whose patience is eternal as the hills;
Jesus, healing my brokenness and ills,
Unwearying in your listening to my call;
Spirit of Love, of constancy most blessed,
Open my heart and cleanse it of all dross,
Bestowing gifts in measure of my loss,
Drawing me to your eternal rest.
Come down, blessed three, consume with holy fire
these ashes so long cold, without desire.
