Let us pray. Lord God, you so loved the world you sent your only Son that we might have life through him. He, in turn, has commanded us to live on in his love by loving one another. Dwell in us, Lord, and bring your love to perfection in us. Grant this through Christ our Lord.

The Word of God

Great is the Lord and highly to be praised. All generations praise the works of the Lord.

The Lord is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and rich in kindness.

The love of the Lord is everlasting.

The Lord is good to all. The Lord shows compassion toward all his works.

The love of the Lord is everlasting.

Our God has loved us with an everlasting love and he answers those who call on him. In confidence, let us pray.

Prayer of the heart

Receive the prayer of our hearts, O God of love. Let your Spirit give voice to what we cannot say. Grant that through these prayer our hearts and lives may be transformed to do your will, in the name of Jesus Christ, who taught us to pray. Amen.
