Several Ways to Experience Manresa 2006

« Manresa pèlerin » (Manresa pilgrim): after a day in Lourdes, France, with the special pilgrimage and gathering of the whole Ignatian family (from 27th July to 4th August –10,000 pilgrims expected, including the family of the Sacred Heart http://lourdes2006.rscj.com where you are welcome !), 4 days hiking to Xavier, Spain (birthplace of Saint Francis-Xavier).  Each day will consist of plenary sessions and sessions by smaller age groups of 8 people, under the guidance of an experienced team member.  On arrival in Xavier, a day is spent choosing between either of the following proposals:
  1. « Manresa retraite » (Manresa retreat): A demanding 5-day experience of silence and prayer according to the Spiritual Exercises, focussed on learning to discern your path with God and others, under the guidance of a spiritual director ; or
  2. « Manresa forum »: 5 days of forum to discover how a powerful human experience can also be a place for a spiritual experience.  Several options are offered: singing/music, Scripture, theatre, manual work, affective development…
« Manresa service » from 31st July PM (Lourdes, France) to 14 August AM (Hendaye, France)
Help serve other pilgrims by taking part in the logistics of this mobile camp through a powerful group experience and a special spiritual program.  Hiking and service take place on alternating days.

« Manresa ‘vie en mer’ » (Manresa on the sea) from 4th August, 6 PM (Hendaye, France) to 13th August, 2 PM (Hendaye, France)
Sailing along the French and Spanish Basque Coast in teams of 8 to 10 people aboard 36-foot yachts.  These seafaring teams will meet with the rest of the Manresa group in Loyola, Spain, on 11th August to share the end of this pilgrimage together.  Offered by the « Vie en mer, entrée en prière » (« Life and Prayer at Sea ») team and is open to all those who wish to discover personal prayer and group sharing with the special rhythm of sailing and of life on board.

directed by a team of Jesuits, laypeople, and Sisters from congregations of Ignatian spirituality.

Price:  € 300 - 400 for Students, € 350-450 for Young Professionals**

* in partnership with InYgo (International Ignatian Youth Movement)
** The cost will in no way be an obstacle to registration and participation.  
A bursary fund will help out those who so request.
