The general archives of the Society of the Sacred Heart are open to scholars doing research on the history, spirituality, activities and personnel of the Society. Some of the holdings are restricted and are not available without special permission for reasons which must be stated. Permission must be requested in writing.

Persons asking to consult the archives should give their preferred dates in writing to the archivist, with at least one alternative date, they should also write a fairly detailed statement of their proposed research project. If any of the material they wish to consult is reserved, they will be notified immediately and may apply for permission for access.

Researchers who request assistance by mail will be accommodated if the research time required is no more than 4 hours. If more is required they are invited to come to the archives to do the research. The current cost of photocopying (€0,10/page) and postage is assumed by the researcher.

When contacting the archives, please give your full name and mailing address as well as the email address.
