The General Archives of the Society of the Sacred Heart is the repository charged with preserving and making available for research the documentary heritage of the Society of the Sacred Heart from its foundation in 1800 to the present.

It attempts to fulfill this mandate through the acquisition and preservation of materials originating primarily from the central administration of the Society and secondarily from the provinces, communities and apostolic works, members and associates of the Society throughout the world.
