Thoughts on Eucharist

The Baker woman is on holiday,
Monsieur L’Abbé is also away
We’re told there will be no Mass today.

How do we feel when we are not fed
With the Body of Christ for our daily bread
“A yawning void in the heart”, we said.
If that is so we’ve not understood
That our Eucharist is more than food.
We must break our lives to make it good
For when we share our thoughts on the Word
And take our time so others are heard
We forget ourselves and do as He said.
And we see His face in the good and the bad
The joyful ones, and also the sad
His memory is brought to life again.

When we look at each other and see His face
We are filled with that Eucharistic grace
And everything is done to remember Him.
