rscj at the First Vows of Rachel Guillien (center), France | We religious loved by God, wounded and healed, fully contemplative and apostolic disciples of Jesus, what kind of call do we hear? I have spoken about the characteristics of this era and the new paradigm of culture. How then, can we religious carry out our mission and roles? A Community collaborating in a mission of female identity, life culture, and coexisting cultures The mission and role of religious is: - to witness God's presence in the midst of the Church and the world - to be faith companions for those who yearn for the Christ, and those who hunger for spirituality
- to be prophetic in living out Gospel values
As we have already said, the new paradigm focuses on feminine culture, life-centered culture, and coexistent cultures. Individual religious and congregations as groups have a role to participate in the creation of genuine culture and to show the new vision that reveals the value of the Reign of God through the acceptance of this new paradigm. A Community that provides a relational God-centered spirituality "The Consecrated Life, deeply rooted in the example and teaching of Christ the Lord, is a gift of God the Father to his Church through the Holy Spirit. By the profession of the evangelical counsels the characteristic features of Jesus- the chaste, poor and obedient one- are made constantly 'visible' in the midst of the world and the eyes of the faithful are directed towards the mystery of the Kingdom of God already at work in history, even as it awaits its full realization in heaven."(VC 1) Our three vows are evangelical virtues based on the teaching of the Sermon on the Mount. For the sake of a genuine happy life, we need to establish the right relationship with God, with the earth and human beings,. Religious should witness that a life of relationship with others carries out its mission only through a God-centered life. The vows can be understood from the perspective of partnership between heaven, earth, and human beings. It will lead our spirituality into a recovery of the right order of creation, justice and peace, and coexistence, and then it will be integrated into a balanced spiritual life.
