Four rscj from four different nations were present at AMOR - Asia Meeting of (Women) Religious XIII – composed of the National Conferences of Women Religious in Asia/Oceania. Hae Young Choi, from Korea, did us proud in her presentation of a paper on ‘The Identity and Mission of Women Religious in a New Paradigm.’ Atsuko Miyama attended from Japan as an observer from the National Conference of Sisters of Taiwan. Margaret Pope, Scottish, came from the National Conference of Sisters of Taiwan, and offered an invaluable service as part of the Secretariat in recording the minutes of the meetings. Gladys D’Souza from India was invited as an international guest as she was the elected Chairperson of AMOR in 1977. The four of us felt it would be good to share AMOR XIII through the Society’s international website. We hope that this report will provide not just information, but feel of the thoughts and the thrust of the women religious in Asia. It not only presents a glimpse of AMOR XIII, but of the origin and the organizational dimension of the movement. Gladys D’Souza rscj Province of India |
