Invitation from Papalotzin international program in Mexico to Sacred Heart Schools worldwide
The Religious of the Sacred Heart from the 44 countries where the Society is present gather every eight years in a Chapter in order to revise their path and to project the future in light of the calls they perceive from the world, and the particular way in which they must respond. All Provincials and some Delegates from each country attend.
Education and Dialogue among Cultures were the themes in 2000.
This 2008, they will meet in Peru during the months of July and August in order to discuss the ways in which the Spirituality of the Sacred Heart may have a prophetic word in today’s world. The contribution of each country and culture will enlighten the meeting and will set up paths to follow according to the different cultural expressions of the places we call our home.
That is why today, from our school in Mexico City, and through the Papalotzin International Program, we would like to invite every school in the world to join ourselves in prayer on the Sacred Heart Feast as a single educational community to brace the religious.
As a symbol of this common action, certain of the creativity of each country, we propose that all schools, on their Feast of the Sacred Heart, do the following:
Form a 5-meter Heart using smaller sections of red ribbon –perhaps one small section per generation. Once finished with the local celebration, pack and send it to Peru with their Provincial.
Once in Peru, we will ask them to join in prayer at some point during their meeting, and tie all the ribbons sent by the schools together, forming one great Heart to express the COR UNUM (one heart and one mind in the Heart of Jesus united in the whole World), in order to fulfill Madeleine Sophie’s wish for the Sacred Heart Family.
Should you have any pictures of this action taking place in your respective schools, we would love to have them for later publication at our PAPALOTZIN website. We would be very grateful if you could send them to the attention of our Mexico City school, to Isabel Villanueva, Coordinator of International Affairs at
