I am a Chinese of Shanghai Origin. I entered the Susono Novitiate in l957 from Hong Kong where I lived from Dec. l948 to l956   Since 2001, I have been helping Father Luis Ruiz, SJ, a 92-year-old Priest in Casa Ricci Social Services in Macao, who serves approximately 10,000 of the 300,000 lepers in the most remote areas in various Chinese Provinces. A Maryknoll Priest and another Jesuit in Taipei make a team of three visiting the Lepers’ Centers 6 or 7 times a year, giving financial, medical and spiritual help in every possible way. God has blessed their work by having at this moment in at least 18 centers where heroic Chinese Sisters, trained for a few years in Taiwan, 3 or 4 in each center are serving the lepers in every possible way, deprived of ordinary spiritual helps except when one or more of the team visit them. They have helped the lepers to live with dignity as human beings. The Government is now asking for help in the government centers with request for expanding the work to help the homeless AIDS patients and the AIDS victims' orphans.

Since God gave me this new mission in 2001, a year before my retirement from school teaching, I have sent all the proceeds from my handicraft products to Father Ruiz to support His Mission with the Lepers in China, adding the AIDS Mission as well. Please help me to thank God for this privilege of helping the poorest of the poor of my own people in my own country.
