Stand Up and Speak Out 2007 E-mail
01 Oct 07

0710_alert.jpgOn October 16-17, 2006, millions of people around the world set the first ever Guinness World Record by literally standing up against poverty. In schools, parishes, youth groups and homes, a total of 23.5 million people stood up to remind their governments to keep the promises made in 2000 in the Millennium Development Goals. This year it is time to break that record!

What?  STAND UP and SPEAK OUT against poverty and inequality

When?  October 16-17, 2007, between 9pm GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) on October 16 and 9pm GMT on October 17

Why?   Because we want to show that we are serious in wanting an end to poverty and inequality, and we want to do that by participating in a global action

Where?  By participating in a public event in your city or by organizing your own event

In the section “materials” you will find campaign flyers, brochures, press advisories and other promotional materials in multiple languages (in more than only the Society three languages). If you create your own event, don’t forget to register, record and report.
