Locusts sing their lazy summer lullaby inviting me to come apart and rest awhile.

Crickets chirp at sunset
calling me to join them in their alleluia chorus.

You beckon me in everything I see-sailboats serenely settled on the lake, motorboats playing havoc with the waves,
surfers gliding swiftly across the water.

You welcome me to yourself on this weekend in the country
inviting me to come apart and rest awhile, calling me to join you in the praise of God, calming me to be serene and playful.

"Come with me by yourselves to some lonely place
where you can rest quietly."    (Mk 6:31)
