This year, 2007, there will be a European meeting in Cracow, Poland, from 2nd – 10th August,

On our way to peace

This meeting is intended for young people, ages 20 – 30 years old, who are connected in some way with the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The main language is English.

The programme of the meeting is very exciting and rich. To begin, we will meet and exchange about the countries and cultures from which we come, through the lens of conflict and the call to peace and justice. Next, we will search together for our common roots and discover our way of building one Europe. We will visit Cracow, Auschwitz, followed by a day of reflection/ prayer in Kalwaria Zebrzydowska.

During our meeting we will also touch on the problem of migration, from both sides. Our experience will end with prayer in Jasna Góra (CzÄ™stochowa), a special place for the history of Poland.

We have chosen Cracow as the place for the meeting, because this city is specially connected with John Paul II. We would like to learn how to love other people, even our persecutors, how to forgive hurts, how to fight for values without destroying anybody. We would  like to walk John Paul’s way of love and visit important places in his life. Finding the roots of our Christian identity and drawing life from our age-old traditions is very important to us.

This meeting is very interesting, with many special places to visit, people to meet and many important matters to share and discuss. I am sure it will become a special place where Jesus will show the love of His Heart.
