Who among you with a hundred sheep, losing one, would not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness and go alter the missing one till he found it? And when he found it, would he not joyfully take it on his shoulders and then, when he got home, call together all his friends and neighbors? ‘Rejoice with me’, he would day, ‘I have found my sheep that was lost.’ In the same way, I tell you, there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one repentant sinner than over the ninety-nine who have no need of repentance?
Luke 15, 3 – 7
Jerusalem Bible
God's mercy and faithfulness
shine forth in a world
wounded by sin.
He has sent His beloved Son
who became one of us, and gave up His life,
to set us free, to make us a new creation
and to gather together all things in Himself
for the glory of His Father.
Constitutions of the Society of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, 1982. par. 2
