I
am Cecilia Rivero Borrel rscj, originally from the city of Mexico. I
entered the Society 15 years ago. At the moment I live in General
Cepeda, a rural community in the north of the country and I have been
working in the Popular Education programme for 6 years now. I
co-ordinate the Ludotecas (games libraries) and I collaborate as an
English and Arts teacher in the ?Elementary School of the Desert".
I
come from a family where music has played an essential role and as far
back as I can remember, music has been my companion throughout all my
life. I have discovered in music, a way to express what I am living
deep down inside.
I cut my first CD ?Espacio habitado? ("Inhabited Space") on the
occasion of the Bi-Centenary of the Society, in order to share the
spirituality that has accompanied me these years and as a complement to
the Spiritual Journey for lay persons that was also published on the
occasion of the bicentennial.
Two years later, I had the opportunity to cut a second CD,
"Contrastes", in which I share what has given meaning to my life
through my experiences, and to my vocation, which is a constant
searching.
.....My song was born from the need to express myself,
as I perceive, think and feel life,
full of certainties,
fears, doubts, hopes........
.....My song expresses daily life
and makes it arise to the rhythm of the music that runs inside....
....My song, as one day I discovered,
has only one reason for being:
not to be mine any more,
when it comes back to me, shared
with the different hue
of those who gave me a gift of their time by listening to my song
and making it their own.
....It is then that my way of being
truly transcends, and is reborn,
from others for others and with others...."
