Poems from the province of Japan
|
My eye is caught for a while by a wild flower
It's gorgeous and beautiful
No princess of any country
Appears as pure as this flower.
A bird is flying in the sky
Nurtured in the hand of God
It sings its freedom and praises to God
Even soprano singers listen to it.
Graces shown daily are limitless
A poor woman that I am
Today too has come and gone without mishaps
Gratitude to God seeps deeply into my being.
(original in Japanese)
Murakami Hideko, rscj
Province of Japan
Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter
All of us together
Traveling
Bathed in the same Spring sun
Deep scars in your side
Gloom
Among new green leaves
The country road
Continues along
Through the autumn
The reflection of winter twilight
Sublimely decorating
The homeland not yet seen
