De niña me aprendí de memoria los frutos del Espíritu Santo que, según el catecismo del P. Ripalda, eran doce: caridad, gozo espiritual, paz, paciencia, benignidad, bondad, longanimidad, mansedumbre, fe, modestia, continencia y castidad. Ojo a los que van en negrita porque, cuando de mayor se me ocurrió estudiar griego y me fui a buscar los doce frutos en Gálatas 5, no me salían las cuentas.

An Easter Morn Reflection
It is 4.30 a.m. and I awake with the first stirrings of nature and the yogis in our ancient land. The sky is slowly spreading with the suffused, but glowingly vibrant hues of early dawn, as the full moon gracefully bows out. The first cries of the Indian cuckoo reach me from the distance and the fresh fragrance of dew-moistened earth revives my soul.  

An “old wineskin” changed
During these first eight months at Oakwood (the community of retired sisters in California) the pieces of my life, past and present have gradually been coming together. Prayer, too, has moved to a new place. It feels rather like something I am than something I do. It happens in the dark, the way lifeblood courses through arteries and veins without my knowing it. And the heart that is pumping it is not mine but Christ's heart in me. And the body is not mine alone but that of the whole human race.

Cuando oí leer y comentar  ese texto de Jeremías  en la fracción del Pan, sentí un estremecimiento. Eran palabras que yo misma hubiera podido pronunciar: también en mi vida, como en la del profeta, hubo un momento en que mis sentimientos coincidieron con los suyos.

Objetivos

• Adquirir una comprensión y apreciación profunda de la Biblia en nuestras vidas cotidianas y en nuestro ministerio.
• Entender mejor los diversos niveles de interpretación bíblica para saber cómo usarlos para nuestra oración personal y comunitaria, así como para compartir la riqueza de las Sagradas Escrituras con los demás.
• Tener un mejor conocimiento del Jesús histórico para conocer mejor el Jesús de nuestra fe (vivencia del misterio de Jesús en nuestras vidas)
• Entender mejor cómo vivir una vida de acuerdo al espíritu de las Sagradas Escrituras

I never knew that prayer was a problem until I entered religious life.
During this process of “Remembering” I have found myself looking at the history of my prayer over the last forty-five years or so. And I realized, not for the first time but with more focus, that I never knew that prayer was a problem until I entered religious life. I had thought prayer was simply part of life.
