Dans mon expérience humaine et spirituelle, avant même de connaître les mots de « spiritualité du Sacré Cœur », c'est le Dieu de la vie plus fort que toute mort, de la tendresse et de la compassion plus fortes que toute absence et désespoir, que j'ai appris à connaître.

Our 1982 Constitutions say that “by our charism, we are consecrated to glorifying the heart of Jesus: we answer His call to discover and reveal His love . . . and through our love and service to radiate the very love of His Heart” (Para. 4).

De niña me aprendí de memoria los frutos del Espíritu Santo que, según el catecismo del P. Ripalda, eran doce: caridad, gozo espiritual, paz, paciencia, benignidad, bondad, longanimidad, mansedumbre, fe, modestia, continencia y castidad. Ojo a los que van en negrita porque, cuando de mayor se me ocurrió estudiar griego y me fui a buscar los doce frutos en Gálatas 5, no me salían las cuentas.

Grábame como un sello sobre tu corazón
Toda tradición bíblica se caracteriza par una determinada constelación de términos con loa que expresa su teolosía y su comprensión de la relación con Dios. En cada una de ellas encontramos un acento distinto a la hora de hablar del corazón humano, pero todas ven en él la sede de las actitudes fundamentales del creyente:

Have you ever had the experience of reading something familiar, for example a chapter of Scripture or a favorite poem, and coming across a few lines which you swear were never there before; you see the words truly for the first time? That happened to me two years ago on retreat when I decided to spend a day reading the original Constitutions of the Society.

An Easter Morn Reflection
It is 4.30 a.m. and I awake with the first stirrings of nature and the yogis in our ancient land. The sky is slowly spreading with the suffused, but glowingly vibrant hues of early dawn, as the full moon gracefully bows out. The first cries of the Indian cuckoo reach me from the distance and the fresh fragrance of dew-moistened earth revives my soul.
