Advent:  Promises to Keep
The season of Advent has an interesting and somewhat convoluted history, and a timeless liturgical spirituality of longing, redemption and grace. The several strands of its development illustrate the way the whole liturgical year evolved over many centuries in relationship to cosmic time, the lunar and solar cycles, historical computations, the genius of particular cultures, and universal ritual instincts.

Contactar con Dios: Desde la prisa
Sólo a mi puede pasarme que se me rompa la lavadora precisamente el día en que tengo que hora en el médico, cita con la tutora de mi hija Ana, recogerla luego en casa de mi cuñada que se la ha llevado al cine y dos llamadas urgentes en el contestador: mi madre: "te necesito para que me acompañes al dentista"; mi marido desde Barcelona: "...me lo fotocopias y me lo mandas por correo urgente". Y por la noche, cena en casa de una amiga que está deprimida. 

¿Cómo vemos nuestro futuro?
Así como si fuésemos en el AVE. Un tren de alta velocidad con destino a la felicidad plena. Emprendimos, hace ya muchos años, el trayecto en un mercancías, pero ahora, - en estos tiempos tan modernos - el tren es mucho mas veloz.

A reflection for Advent
In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a town in Galilee called Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man named Joseph, of the House of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary. He went in and said to her, ‘Rejoice, so highly favoured! The Lord is with you!’

Reflection for the Feast of Mater Admirabilis
I think we all know the story of Mater - the fresco painted in the Trinita dei Monti in Rome in 1844 by a young Religious of the Sacred Heart, Pauline Perdreau, picturing Mary as a young Jewish girl, sitting in the Temple, with the dawn rising behind her. She is dressed in pink, and is surrounded by her workbasket, her spindle, an open book at her feet, a lily by her side. In schools of the Sacred Heart throughout the world we honor Mary as Mater Admirabiis, Mother Most Admirable, on October 20.

Y Tú no estás aquí
Y me pregunto nuevamente si estás aquí o si te has ido para siempre; ¿por qué no te siento como antes?, ¿por qué has callado todo este tiempo?, ¿o será que ya no quiero escucharte?, que he perdido la capacidad de admiración y con ella la capacidad de sonreír.

La Eucaristía en el Nuevo Testamento
Creer en la Eucaristía comporta la necesidad de hablar de ella con la profunda convicción de la gran fragilidad y pobreza de Las palabras para hacerlo... edemas:
No es fácil hablar de la Eucaristía en un mundo en que no se comparte el Pan...
No es fácil hablar de la Eucaristía cuando se ha perdido la capacidad de la escucha y del Misterio...

Contactar con Dios: desde el cansancio
Cuenta una vieja historia de la Biblia que una noche el patriarca Jacob se echó a dormir en medio del campo. Como de costumbre iba huyendo, en este caso de su hermano Esaú que lo perseguía a causa del contencioso "lentejas por primogenitura" que los interesados pueden leer en Gen 25,29-34. El caso es que Jacob se pasaba la vida escapando y casi sólo cuando era de noche y se echaba a dormir, podía Dios alcanzarlo.

Choosing Life: A Prayer service

God, the refuge you offer is no hiding place from the world. It is the sanctuary for survivors, where you warm us with shared experience, and kindle in us the passion to struggle against cruelty, exclusion and oppression. Your wings lift us high with hope and laughter. Soaring above loneliness and pain, we see the vision of what might be. So let us celebrate the venture of other women who acted with courage and perception and as an inspiration to us on this journey of transformation of persons and societies.

Parabole de Lazare et du riche
Dans la basilique de Vézelay, on peut admirer environ 200 chapiteaux romans illustrant des scènes de la Bible, de la vie des saints, de la mythologie, et des chapiteaux symboliques. Curieusement, il n’y a que deux chapiteaux de l’Evangile et tous deux mettent en scène la parabole de Lazare et du riche.
