I write to you today to tell you of a decision affecting the châsse of Saint Madeleine Sophie. We are well aware that she made many journeys during her lifetime, but since her death she has also traveled. Now she is about to move again.

Rome: Seminar on the Role of Women Religious in the Fight against Trafficking in Persons
In October, Catholic Sisters from twenty-six countries representing all continents, gathered in Rome at a seminar called, “Building a Network: The Prophetic Role of Women Religious in the Fight Against Trafficking in Persons”. I was fortunate to be part of this important initiative, representing Canada and the Society of the Sacred Heart.

RSCJ from Indonesia presents at the United Nations
On October 4, 2007, Gerardette Philips rscj spoke during the General Assembly’s Informal Interactive Hearings with civil society on Best Practices and Strategies on Interreligious and Intercultural Cooperation Going Forward. Gera was one of ten Presenters chosen to speak from among 175 nominees. The hearings with civil society were part of a two-day High-level Dialogue on Interreligious and Intercultural Understanding and Cooperation for Peace, held by the General Assembly at the UN on October 4-5, 2007. Levántate contra de la pobreza
Un grupo de alumnas y profesores del Colegio del Sagrado Corazón de Concepción, Chile, concientes de las grandes cifras de pobreza que hay en el planeta, formaron la agrupación ANUM (Agrupación Nuevo Milenio), con el fin de fomentar los 8 Objetivos del Milenio propuestos por las Organización de las Naciones Unidas, institución que tiene como meta reducir a la mitad el número de pobres en el mundo para el año 2015.

Tuve la oportunidad de visitar a las Hermanas Vicentinas que tienen su comunidad en Pisco (lugar del epicentro). La idea era ir desde el sábado temprano y dormir allá, pero el mismo viernes por la noche nos avisaron que no había espacio, pues la capilla donde ahora duermen todas las hermanas estaba llena y las carpas ocupadas por los jóvenes voluntarios.
