If not, go along to the Chapter Secretariat, be it early morning or late in the evening, and you will find Mary Hinde (ENW), Sandra Mc Sheaffrey (IRS), Françoise Greffe (FRA) or Sandra Bossio (Lay secretary from the Mother House) sitting in front of their computers!

For me the context in which the Chapter has been happening is very meaningful. We experience the generosity and the most warm welcome of the Peruvian Province. Their mission is so life giving and so needed here in Peru. But we are also aware that millions people are living on the edge, on the hills around Lima in extreme poverty.

It’s the first time I’ve taken part in a General Chapter, and I feel enormous gratitude; the atmosphere of communion, trust and freedom is palpable. We feel that we are sisters, and at the same time our countries have become one family, rejoicing in all that we gain from belonging to an international community.

It was a delight for me to finally meet Gera Philips, rscj (native Indian now living in Indonesia and serving as the Director of novices at the same time as she continues her study of Islam). I have heard Gera's name for years and was grateful when I learned that the General Council had invited her to speak to us on Islam.
